Pork

We are committed to stockmanship, welfare and animal husbandry of the highest standard.

Our pigs are born and raised on the farm in a stress-free environment and handled with care by people who love pigs. Their beds are made from deep comfy straw and they have plenty of space, fresh air and sunshine. They are fed a wholesome cereal diet milled to our specifications.

Great Garnetts pork is delicious, it is full of good old fashioned flavour with just the right amount of fat to keep it succulent and tender whilst cooking , with crackling just the way it should be.

We can prepare your meat for you in any cuts to suit your needs. All our fresh joints are craft butchered and tied with string, we have cuts for every occasion. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in our on-line shop then give us a call on 01245 231 331 and we’ll sort out your bespoke order.

Gammon & Bacon

Both the Gammon and Bacon are smoked in an old brick built smoke house where the meat is hung over smouldering oak and beech chips.

All the Gammons are prepared and cured at the farm, we have smoked or unsmoked available. The Gammon is packed with traditional flavour

Our dry cured bacon is a three-week process with regular turning, culminating in a trip to the smoke house. All the bacon is sliced on a traditional hand driven slicer.

You’ll notice the quality in the way it cooks – Our bacon doesn’t shrivel up!

Sausages

Our sausages are made from wholesome cuts of pork, with a natural balance of fat to lean mixed with quality seasoning’s, breadcrumbs or rusk. Then filled into natural casings and linked by hand.

We make sausages twice a week, so we always have fresh available.

Our traditional pork sausages, known locally as the Goddard’s sausage, are made from a traditional recipe associated with Saffron Walden since the early 1920’s and passed on to us by Grayson & Start butchers in 2008.

Turkeys

Great Garnetts Turkey enterprise began in 1971 and has expanded over the years. Our Turkeys are sold to both retail and wholesale customers.

We aim to produce Turkeys that are rich in good old- fashioned flavour whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of welfare and animal husbandry in rearing, feeding, housing and processing.

Our dedication to quality leads us to use traditional slow growing breeds of Turkeys, who are fed on a wholesome cereal ration produced at a local mill. This combination ensures a Christmas dinner that is extra special in both flavour and tenderness.

We believe you the customer know what you want and with our Great Garnetts Traditional Farm Fresh Turkey we are confident that you will not be disappointed.
